Trustpower Arena to Celebrate 10 Years!

Trustpower Arena at Baypark was proposed as the solution to Tauranga’s growing need for a new recreation and event space in the mid-2000s. Conceptualised in 2005 and completed in August 2011, the new facility was to become a hub of community activity and home to a diverse calendar of high-quality events. As we approach the 10 year anniversary of this standout venue, it is clear that Trustpower Arena has well and truly lived up to those expectations.

Over 4 million people have walked through the Arena doors since that very first day in 2011, each enjoying something different that the venue has to offer. From the NZ Wrestling Championships (our first event ever!), to exhibitions, international concerts and a huge range of community sport,

Trustpower Arena has become an industry leader for the region. Having a contemporary, multipurpose venue at their doorstep has fostered passionate participation from the Tauranga community and allowed promoters to bring fantastic events to the Bay of Plenty.

To celebrate this incredible first decade, Trustpower Arena is hosting a free Family Fun Day on Sunday 29 August. All are welcome to come along and enjoy entertainment, activities, sports and giant cake! Give basketball and netball a go or try out some of our more unique sports like floorball and backboard ball. Tumble Time will be set up for the little ones, and children up to age 13 will love the Ninja Warrior time trial course.

Between live entertainment, a petting zoo and Mustang and Speedway cars on display, the Family Fun Day has something for everyone. Bring the crew along for a great day out, have a bite to eat and help us celebrate 10 years of Trustpower Arena at Baypark.

The forward thinking of those involved in the Arena’s development shaped a facility that has gone from strength to strength each year. From the initial contractors to our current staff and patrons, every person who has stepped foot into Trustpower Arena has added something special to the fabric of Tauranga’s most successful community venue. Thank you for these first 10 years, we can’t wait for the next 10!
